Decipher +

DECIPHER + Intervention Programme, has been designed to address the concerns of gang membership and serious youth violence within schools, PRU’s, YOTS and community groups. The programme will help young people to understand the legal consequences and social implications of serious violence and gang involvement whilst empowering them to make positive choices and enhance self-esteem.

DECIPHER + is suitable for 13-18 years olds, consisting of nine sessions delivered once a week over two hours designed to focus upon the belief systems, values and misconceptions derived from urban myths surrounding gangs whilst providing an alternative truth. The programme also aims to create a safe forum for young people to express their concerns and fears regarding current tensions in order to prevent the escalation and continuation of current conflicts.
